Icelandic Poppy

Although it's been a rough winter spring is just around the corner. Of course it's never far away here in California. The winter gives us beautiful sunsets, but now it's time for some amazing spring flower images.

Poppy Field

A beautiful field of Icelandic Poppies. The interesting background is a tree with the sunlight filtering through.

Poppies

I particularly like the color of these poppies. And, the center of that lower one is rather interesting.

So I have been building this site for a while, but this evening was a first. I went to Google to search for the scientific name for Icelandic Poppies and this is the page I found.

I've had some fun with this image, somehow it seemed like it just wanted to be an Easter card.

Poppy Buds

I used to take off a little early for work, just to go take pictures. This was one of the shots I got at La Cumbre Plaza, on upper state street. I actually got quite a few nice shots from those morning trips through there.

Flaming Poppy Close-up

It was a wild weekend getting ready for a show, that is my only excuse.

This is the first day I missed a post since I started the site. But, I thought I should put something nice in this place for those of you that have come back to look.

Thanks for your dedication!! :0)

With a little luck you will soon be able to give me feedback on my images too. I'd love to hear what you think!

Evening Poppy

I like to take pictures when the sun is low in the sky. The shadows are much more interesting. These Poppies are always beautiful subjects, but to just snap a photo of a white flower in the middle of the day would make for a pretty boring picture. The shadows here accentuate the shapes of the flower and add even more interest to an already beautiful flower.
