Fisher Stevens, actor turned director handing off the microphone to the star of the evening, Sylvia Earle, at the 29th Annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival opening night film. Stevens codirected "Mission Blue" along with Robert Nixon, a docuementary looking through the eyes of Dr. Earle at the damage done to our oceans and the life that depends on them... ours. Stevens was clear this evening was about Earle and her mission. The evening was dedicated to the memory of ocenographer and documentary filmmaker Mike DeGruy.

Mission Blue is a documentary of Dr. Earle's witness to the damage done to our oceans and sealife over the years since she started exploring the wonder of the oceans. It played to a standing room only crowd last night dedicated to the loving memory of ocenographer and doucumentary filmmaker Mike DeGruy.
